We Are Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Bristol People Search is privately operated. We cannot retrieve a file, issue a certified copy, verify a person's home, or delete an entry from any database. Contact the office that holds the source record for those needs. Dial 911 in an emergency. Contact local police if you believe someone is stalking or harassing you.

Where to Request a Record

The correct contact depends on who keeps the Bristol record:

  • City administrative records: City Attorney and Records Coordinator, City Hall Room 201, 801 Anderson Street, Bristol, TN 37620; 423-989-3407; fax 423-989-5506; confirm office hours before visiting.
  • Police, incident, and crash reports: Bristol Police Records Division, 801 Anderson Street; 423-989-5539 or 423-989-5289; weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Deeds, liens, and plats: Sullivan County Register of Deeds. Access routes and record limits appear with Bristol public records.
  • Marriage licenses and scanned marriage records: Sullivan County Clerk's Bristol office, 801 Anderson Street; 423-989-4366; generally weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Court and probate files: use the correct Sullivan County Circuit, Law, General Sessions, Juvenile, Chancery, or Probate clerk and provide the division, location, names, and filing period.
  • Voter and directory searches: use Bristol voter registration records or Bristol people directories for the responsible offices and official tools.

For city copies, use Bristol's official request form and submit it in person, through the email link on the city request page, or by fax. Tennessee citizenship proof may be requested. Inspection alone may be requested orally. Confirm current hours before visiting a county office in Blountville.
